That is specific to our domain. It won't work on your site.

Can we put in text line at the bottom of the web page saying the check-out is secure safe shopping by e-junkie GeoTrust and ControlScan Certifies?

I like some kind of logo or text saying the site is secure shopping at checkout.

Thanks
Kimberly

You might mention that checkouts are secure because they are handled by PayPal/Google Checkout/etc. and there might be some logos you can obtain from your account there to show on your site if you wish.

For checkouts using PayPal Pro or Authorize.Net, the actual checkout page the buyer sees is secure and actually hosted by us (we interface with the processor behind the scenes in this case), so our GeoTrust and ControlScan badges appear at the bottom of the checkout page.

There is no need to have any secure encryption on your own site, since no private or financial data is being transmitted before the buyer goes to checkout. :^)

I know I look for a lock or something before even adding anything to a cart at a store and why I would like to add something. I will check out paypal to see what they have or find another type of images to use to make people feel safe.

Thanks
Kimberly

Really you only need to look for the padlock where you're entering private or financial info, so before you go to checkout anything you do on a site is anonymous anyway.

If you want to go to the trouble and expense of installing a SSL certificate for your own site, so all your pages could have the padlock icon, that would be entirely up to you and doesn't involve us at all. All you'd need to do to make that work with our cart is modify your button codes so any instance of "http://www.e-junkie.com/" is changed to "https://www.e-junkie.com/".

I got a SSL I am not using, I got Rackspace managed hosting and will contact them and ask them about it. Plus I added a nice logo from Paypal and added ejunkie logo for shopping cart.

Thanks
Kimberly

See, I was going to ask the same thing...

Could we use the Slam online scam, geotrust or paypal or other secure logos. We get that we don't need a secure server, but folks should know their info is protected prior to clicking the add to cart button.

The buyer is not providing any personal or financial data prior to checkout, so in that sense all pending cart orders are anonymous and don't need to be secured, so there's no cause for concern there, and this is how nearly every online shopping site works, so it's nothing unusual that would scare away buyers.

Once a buyer goes to checkout that process does need to be secure since the buyer is being requested to provide sensitive data at that point (name, address, payment account info, etc.). If they're using a third-party payment processor such as PayPal or Google Checkout, those sites are already trusted by buyers, and their checkout pages are secured and indicated as such by their own means. If they're paying you directly with a credit card authorized via PayPal Pro or Authorize.Net, in that case we host the secure checkout page at https://www.fatfreecartpro.com/... (note the "https:", with the "s" indicating a secure connection that also shows the padlock icon in their browser), and which does also display our GeoTrust badge.
