Unit Price, Item Number SKU and Line Item Detail

For the shopping cart:

A - I don't see the 'Unit Price' just the Total Price and Qty for each line item. But it shows up when checking out. Can this be changed?

B - The 'Item Number and SKU' have some funky lines between them
===>Item # 87115||60TRUA

Can this be changed to something normal such as a - or . instead if you are trying to separate the data? Those lines do not looks very good imo.

C - The 'Line Item Detail' shows nicely in the shopping cart but does not show up nicely with the variants in the checkout. Can that be changed?

If there are some settings for these things I overlooked then please let me know.

Otherwise, I would like to request that these items be formated differently for a better look and consistancy across shopping cart to checkout for a better customer experience.

A. No

B. We need to pass SKU with item number as PayPal does not have a separate paramter for SKU.

.. and no || can't be changed as pipe is one the symbols that we are sure no one would have otherwise in their item number or sku.

C. As we support 6 options, whereas PayPal only allows 2 so we have to do some magic here.

A - Can't you display the Unit Price in your own shopping cart?

C - Not sure if I was clear.

This shows up in your shopping cart. Very nice look and easy for customer to understand:

1. TEST XXX Item - Mens Shirt Blue Cloth Small

This is what shows up in PayPal. What happened to the descriptive words:

TEST XXX Item - Mens Shirt

Why can't those descriptive words be brought along to the PayPal checkout?

The more complete, uniform and standard the shopping cart and checkout screen are the less likely the customer is going to get confused. It makes for a better shopping experience.

A - No

B - We won't pass a modified name to PayPal. For price affecting variant, the unique identifier is SKU. For non price affecting options, we do pass the option name and values.

We make such decisions based after careful consideration of limitations imposed specs of various payment processors we support and come up with best possible solution which is consistent across all the processors we support.

So, no, we can't change this.

A - Why wouldn't you show Unit price in your own shopping cart?

B - Does this have to do with the payment processer? Its a text line item. Or does it really have to do with that payment processer sending you info back so you can process the ejunkie part such as emails, thankyous, links, etc?

A- It's our deisgin decision.

B - I can't really delve into the details, but if you go through paypal, authorize.net, google checkout and trialpay specs and want to come up with a consistent solution, you'll probably come up with something similar.
