When I put the e-junkie buttons on my website it works great on most machines but when I test it on my laptop that has Norton 360 installed, the page with the buttons loads halfway then freezes up and locks up explorer. Even when I turn off fraud protection! What do I do to make it work? # POSTED ON: December 7, 2007 @ 13:35 GMT -7 |

That sounds like a local machine issue. However, if you want, you can switch to our non JavaScript cart buttons. # POSTED ON: December 7, 2007 @ 13:35 GMT -7 |

Sadly, it's not a local machine issue, it's a Norton issue! We have been getting a lot of such complaints, and what we have been doing is sending our customers (who have Norton) this information and advising them to upgrade to a CD. <<There's the problem. Unfortunately Norton Anti Virus has itself a little bug which gives a 'false positive' whenever it meets an 'autorun.exe' programme, one of which is included within the download package.. Not just us.. Many software suppliers are having this problem at the moment.. It all started a couple of months ago with a new Norton update (downloaded very quietly via your broadband connection!) The rejection is not based on finding an actual virus, but on whether Norton knows who you are! All very strange when we have been selling downloads without problems for over five years now!! This is what Norton have to say about it. <<Detections of WS.Reputation.1 type are based on Symantec’s reputation-based security technology. WS.Reputation.1 is detection for files that have not yet developed a strong reputation among Symantec’s community of users and is not based on observed malicious or nefarious activity. When detections of this type are triggered in Norton products the user may be warned that the application is unproven, thus allowing the user to make the final decision>> Unfortunately, they are not warning users or allowing them to make the final decision. We are, at the moment, in negotiations with Norton to be put on their 'White List'. They seem to have little sense of urgency and say it will be at least two months.>> If you want to take it up with Norton.. Here's some information for you.. Good luck!!! Email from Norton. We are writing in relation to your submission through Symantec's on-line Security Risk / False Positive Dispute Submission form for your Plumbing Level 2 Theory Revision 02.exe software being detected by Symantec Software as WS.Reputation.1. Firstly, please note that your submission has been incorrectly submitted to Symantec and will need to be sent once again through the correct submission form found below. Disputes in relation to WS.Reputation.1 detections need to be submitted through the following Symantec online form. https://submit.symantec.com/dispute/insight Detections of WS.Reputation.1 type are based on Symantec’s reputation-based security technology. Please refer to the WS.Reputation.1 write up referenced below for further details. http://www.symantec.com/en/uk/security_response/writeup.jsp? docid=2010-051308-1854-99 To possibly avoid future detections of your files as WS.Reputation.1, please try the following. 1. Digitally sign binaries. 2. Submit your software to Symantec’s white-listing program: https://submit.symantec.com/whitelist/Thank you for your cooperation in submitting the dispute once again through the correct online dispute form to ensure a prompt resolution.
