They expire after the number of hours and number of downloads set in product settings.

Is there any way to allow more than 9 downloads per book as I sell a few on eBay?

Not quite sure what you mean. Each transaction gets it's own unique link issued.

Lookie here for where to enter your download Tries and/or Hours for expiration
http://teepeesigns.com/images/junkiedls.gif
Right hand side: Download Link Validity - enter Tries and/or Hours after it.
Hours can be set to 0 to ignore hours. Tries MUST be 1 or higher
Hope this helps

If I choose to have 5 download attempts, would that allow 5 different people to buy the same e-book as long as they all did so within the alloted time?
Or would I have to list the same e-book as 5 separate products so each one would have its own code and time limit?
Thanks in advance.
