If a merchant has 2 products listed (basic and advanced) and I send traffic using the link for one product (basic) but they end up buying the other (advanced), which product will I get credit for? The two products have a substantial difference in price so if I'm using paid search, I want to make sure I'm sending them to the right one.

If hop link option is enabled for both the products, then you can link to either and you will get a percentage if any of the products (which has hop link enabled) is sold.
