Does a user need to have a paypal account to pay for an item purchased using the standard e-junkie shopping cart functionality?
I see there is Paypal and Paypal pro. I just want the easiest solution for my users.

No, PayPal offers a "don't have a paypal account?" option to buyers and they can pay with their credit card or bank account without having to register for a PayPal account.

I personally will suggest using PayPal Standard. However, you should still compare both solutions on PayPal site.
