Does E-Junkie work with Etsy.com? If so, how does it work? Do I set it up like the ebay instructions?

eBay instructions won't work for Etsy. However, simply get the BUY NOW or ADD TO CART (the version without JavaScript) button code and place that html code in your product description.

If Etsy does not let you paste HTML, but does let you paste URLs, then simply take the purchase URL (https://www.e-junkie.com/ecom/gb.php?......) part and place that anywhere Etsy lets you place a URL.

I know this post is rather old but I've just signed up with Etsy and E-Junkie and I'm wondering if anything has changed in this regard?

I'm not sure how this is going to work...posting the URL in my description could be easily missed by customers. Etsy automatically adds a link to PayPal (my chosen method of payment) so, in essence, there will be TWO Add to Cart buttons: the one I post in my description and Etsy's button.

Is there another way to do this? Help please!

Thanks,
typester

Unfortunately no, our service won't really work with Etsy. This post is from two years ago and isn't theoretically incorrect, but as you said Etsy is already establishing a link to PayPal on its own so they want your sales to go through their buttons, not ours.

So even if you do add our buttons onto your Etsy page, Etsy will be steering your buyers to make purchases outside our system.

Thank you very much for your reply. I thought E-Junkie might be the solution I needed but it just won't work. Etsy needs some improvement when it comes to digital downloads, that's for sure.

I'm selling digital downloads on Etsy and I know there must be a way to make this work. If I could just get a link to my files on E-Junkie AFTER they have paid on Etsy, I could include the link in the Thank You for your purchase email. Seems E-Junkie doesn't allow free download links? My alternative is to store on my host and create a page with a download link...Just wanted to keep all my files in one area. Right now I use E-Junkie for sales from my website and will create a download link from my host for Etsy. It sucks having to send out files manually for Etsy sales. Sometimes I overlook the obvious so if anyone has any suggestions I'd love to hear.

You can use the Send Free Download Link function in your Seller Admin to issue a link from our system manually, with all the same security and link-expiration features of a paid link.

For orders which are not placed using E-junkie purchase buttons, we could only process the order if payment was handled via PayPal; this would be an adaptation of our eBay integration method:
http://www.e-junkie.com/ej/help.ebay.htm

I.e., PayPal would send a notification of payment to our external-IPN URL, we match the PayPal Email receiving the payment to a seller's PayPal Email in our system, then we match the Item Name paid for to the Item Name of a product in that seller's Admin, so we would then process an order for that product (issue links, emails, etc.).

We have no way to process orders which are not placed with E-junkie buttons and not paid-for via PayPal.

I just tried this on one of my patterns on my Etsy store but it didn't work.

Any suggestions of what I could be doing wrong?

I used the exact ebay instructions but put in my etsy title.

Thanks
Kay

E-junkie is not pre-integrated with Etsy. Our rules for eBay integration may not work, since the way PayPal sends us the order data from a third-party may not line up in the same way as it does in eBay, eBay is a bit easier in this case, since it is owned by PayPal. As Tyson mentioned above you may just need to use our Send Free Download Link option to send a link to your buyers.

Thats a shame!

I know one shop on Etsy figured out a way to do it so someone has come up with a way around it.

Man a company could make a killing if they had a way to enable it.

Thanks so much

Kay
