You said "Well then, good thing we're already implementing plans to migrate to a better datacenter and upgrade our servers with improved redundancy schema to prevent outages in the future! :^)" I ask. Give me the starting date, and end date of the migration process, I have asked this before however it seems that you do not have a target date at all, as you did not answer my question. So can you let us know when the migration process started and when it will be finalised? It's a simply straight forward question. Well, as of Friday afternoon, we've already migrated the Web services fully over, just a bit ahead of schedule! By "schedule", I mean a sequence of events that must transpire in order or in sync, some of which depend on the cooperation of other agents outside our control (such as the email whitelist registration, which we're waiting on now); this doesn't necessarily conform to wishful thinking on the calendar. At the moment, we're just waiting on analysis of a piece of hardware to determine whether it can migrate to the new datacenter or must be replaced first, which we might tentatively project should all transpire by the end of this week. Beyond that, all that's left to do for the future is adding more server CPUs to the new datacenter rack, to further improve redundancy and increase capacity and responsiveness, but that should only ever impact service availability in a good way. Looks like the whitewater rapids are behind us, folks. # POSTED ON: April 7, 2008 @ 18:06 GMT -7 |
