I am selling posters.

I can fit 2 posters in a small tube. I have defined the cost and weight of a small tube in the admin tools. I have also defined that 2 products can fit in a small tube in the product profile.

E-Junkie works perfectly if a buyer chooses 1 or 2 posters, but what is happening when they choose 3 products?

Does E-Junkie calculate that as shipping 2 tubes? (2 products in the first small tube and 1 product in the second small tube.) I don't think so as the numbers I'm getting don't match that.

Does E-Junkie automatically bump it up to a regular tube? (Might be the case, but I don't have any "regular" tubes - I only have a bunch of small tubes!)

Anyway, I'm wondering what rules E-Junkie follows in this situation to calculate shipping.

As an e-junkie physical goods only seller, I would also like to see a more clear clarification on the calculated shipping rules that the e-junkie software uses. I think it would help make sure that my overall shipping charges do not get out of control. As it is, I have to set rules for discounts when the amount gets above a certain threshold.

Just looking for a little more documentation than the website currently provides.

That's what it does. I'll suggest that you take everything in account (handling cost, shipping cost increase due to weight increase) to match the numbers.

No, but if you had another poster in the order which went out in regular or big tube, then E-junkie would have put the extra small poster in the big tube.

Hmmmm... This isn't adding up on my end. I have no handling fees, and I say a tube costs .55 cents.

The price for shipping one poster in one tube is correct. ($2.66 Shipping + .55 Tube)
The price for shipping two posters in one tube is also correct. ($4.60 shippping + .55 Tube)

The price for shipping 3 posters should be the two prices above added together ($8.36). It is not. The price for shipping three posters appears as $7.44.

I've tried to reverse engineer how it comes up with that price, but I can't for the life of me. My only thought is that maybe it splits up the weight EQUALLY across both tubes, but unless I want to cut a poster in half, that is incorrect.

We have PayPal Pro for our merchant services.

It sounds like using eJunkie's USPS calculated shipping would be a more fair and accurate shipping method for our customers, since PayPal uses a flat rate method.

I am correct in my understanding?

If you determine that using our live rate-lookup feature for USPS (and/or UPS Ground) would be more fair than PayPal's flat-rate approach, then we can certainly support that and provide any advice you may require to get that set up properly. :^)
