This question should be in the faq but I did not see it. I noticed there is a way to send updates to the buyers list, but can I send free updates or will they be asked to purchase the new version? I'm sure lots of users like to send free updates for previous buyers, so how do we do this? thanks.

You can sent them free updates. We do charge the merchant small fee to sent out the updates though.
