added customer desired explaining fails figuring general glad help page payment post preferences problem product redirect redirected selected site solution submit url

I want the customer to be redirected to a page on my site after they submit/complete their payment. I do not have redirect selected in the product preferences - I have added the desired URL in general preferences... I cannot figure out how to make this work! Help is appreciated.
