Product option values now display in thank-you page

We have added a feature to our standard thank-you page content, so that the name of a product ordered will now be accompanied by any variants/variations option values selected for that product. E.g., if your buyer purchased a Product named "Custom Slogan T-shirt" and had ordered that item with variations selected as Size=Large, Color=Blue and entered text for Slogan="Witty Aphorism" , the thank-you page will now say:

We've successfully received the order for Custom Slogan T-shirt.
Size: Large
Color: Blue
Slogan: Witty Aphorism

The phrase "We've successfully received the order for [%item_name%]" cannot be customized, but you can add a translation in the product settings Message (HTML) field. See this help page for further details about thank-you page customization:

Tyson, that's quite disappointing that half the interface can be customized and the other half not. I can change the buttons "Update cart" etc, but not the text that is displayed elsewhere on the screen. Same for the message above ("We've successfully...").
From my client's position this is not acceptable, we develop a German site for them and they expect everything to be in german.

When will this be customizable? It just takes a developer 30 minutes to add a textbox to the general settings with this text string in it. While he's at it, add the other hard-coded strings to the general settings as well.

Looking forward to a huge improvement!

All I can say is that we have discussed adding a language localization setting tentatively projected for sometime this year. Formal announcement of any new features going live would be posted to our Service Status and Updates forum here:

Back to the variant on the thank you page - currently I use the code [%item_name%]

Do I need to change this? If so to what value?

The [%item_name%] variable would only insert the base product's name without any Variant/Variation option values. If you want to insert those values, we now have the proper template codes documented here:

Bear in mind that our standard thank-you pages already include the Item Name and any option values selected by the buyer, so you don't need to "do" anything merely to show the buyer what they'd bought. Any thank-you page customization you specify would only be added to our standard thank-you page content.
