Adding features to improve and simplify reporting

I have a few small features I'd like to see to improve reporting. Nothing urgent but desirable

1. Next to the dates have a pull down list with the options "Today", "This week", Last 7 Days"," This month", "Last Month", that sets the date ranges accordingly. This setting should be remembered between sessions. Have a look at AdWords reporting for an example.

2. Under Items sold, break down the total into the different products, showing sales and refunds, i.e.
Sold Refunds
Product A 10 1
Product B 13 2
----- ----
Total 23 3
----- ----

3. Simplify the ZIP file structure, i.e, give the file a real name (not dl.php) that excell recognises (i.e., report.csv) and don't put it in a sub-directory

Does anyone know if there is a way to see the total discounts given for a set period of time? We total our sales based on the original prices and take the total monthly discounts off the top later. I assumed that E-Junkie would give me the total discount applied as a data point. I also assumed that I'd be able to get a csv file that excel could open and SUM for me.

I really don't want to have to go through by hand and figure out the discounts that we applied...

Wait I figured out how to get the file to work with Excel, ignore that bit. Still interested in getting the discounts total as a data point...

There is not a report that will show you the total amount that has been discounted during a set time period. You can use the transaction log to see which discounts have been used during a time period and how many times it was used. You will then need to manually multiply that by the discount amount.

Well that answers my question, thanks for the quick reply. I didn't want to waste my time if I was missing something. Since I got in into Excel I've managed to wrangle things around make it easier, still would be great if the cart recorded that detail along with all the others...
