How can I stop Google from asking for my customers' shipping address? We are only selling digital products and it is confusing people. In the product configuration, all shipping related boxes are UNCHECKED. Please help. # POSTED ON: December 5, 2008 @ 11:42 GMT -7 |

I went through a purchase of your product available in the marketplace (sans clicking the Pay now button) and Google Checkout did not ask me for a shipping address. They may be providing you with a general address because you are requesting a zip code for tax purposes. # POSTED ON: December 5, 2008 @ 16:04 GMT -7 MODIFIED ON: December 5, 2008 @ 16:04 GMT -7 |

Hi Stefanie, I was looking at it without being logged into my Google account. So maybe Google requires all new accounts to enter their shipping address? When I was logged in, it didn't ask for the address. In the transaction log, Google displays the shipping address for all our orders. Do they do this no matter what? I assumed that meant they were asking people for their shipping address. As far as the zip code... I do not have anything checked in e-junkie to require a zip code or sales tax. Were you suggesting this is something done by Google or done in my E-junkie account? Thanks again for your help. # POSTED ON: December 5, 2008 @ 17:14 GMT -7 |

If a buyer does not already have a Google Checkout account to sign into, then the checkout page lets them create one directly, just as easily as performing checkout on a big-name eCommerce site. For products without Shipping enabled in E-junkie Admin, the buyer would only need to provide a Billing Address to validate their card account and identity. If a Shipping Address is being asked for or provided, that means a product in the order was configured with Shipping enabled. # POSTED ON: December 7, 2008 @ 14:41 GMT -7 |

I have tangible products that I am selling but shipping is free so I don't set up shipping at all. But for some reason Google is treating my orders as digital downloads. Could it be a result of me not setting up shipping? # POSTED ON: February 19, 2009 @ 23:29 GMT -7 |

You need to at least enable the Shipping setting for each of your tangible products, even if you won't be charging any shipping fees -- that tells Google to collect a shipping address and treat the items as tangible goods. To make sure no shipping fees are added, just set the products' weight to 0.00 and leave everything in Seller Admin > Cart Shipping Settings set to 0.00 as well. # POSTED ON: February 22, 2009 @ 12:33 GMT -7 |

Ok. Did that. Thx! So, now is there a way for Google Checkout to NOT ask for my buyer's zip code in the shopping cart? If not, it's cool. :) # POSTED ON: March 3, 2009 @ 14:39 GMT -7 |

Sorry, if you have enabled Shipping for any product in the buyer's order, our cart will require them to enter a zip/postal code before going to checkout. You can at least change the text labels next to those fields in the cart by adding these lines to your View Cart code on every page where you are using our buttons, just before the "// -->" line in the standard code we issue: function EJEJC_config() { EJEJC_POSTCALL=true; } function EJEJC_shown() { jQuery("#country1").attr("innerHTML", "Your Country"); jQuery("#state1").attr("innerHTML", "Your ZIP/Postal Code"); } # POSTED ON: March 3, 2009 @ 18:57 GMT -7 |
