Customize Checkout Form?

I think E-junkie is great! However, I am wondering if E-junkie is ever going to allow customization of the checkout page. It isn't the most visually appealing checkout page. Are there any plans in the works? Anything we can do to change the purchase button at least?

I presume you are referring to our PayPal Pro or Authorize.Net checkout pages? At the moment, you can at least upload a custom logo/header image (Seller Admin > Edit Profile > Upload Your Logo button) which would appear at the top of those checkout pages. To become eligible for that bonus feature, you must first post post your E-junkie Reseller link code to a live Web site page:
http://www.e-junkie.com/ej/reseller.htm

All other checkout pages are controlled by the payment processors themselves, so we have no influence from our end as to what those pages look like (aside from providing your logo/header image for processors who support that), although you may have some options for that within your account settings on their system.

If we ever do add support for customizing the checkout pages we do control directly, I think it would most likely be a matter of allowing you to provide some CSS that could be applied to that page, although I cannot say if nor when we may add that feature.

To customize our Add to Cart, View Cart and Buy Now button images:

To customize the Checkout buttons inside our cart display:

Has there been any change in the above in the past 2 and a bit years?

I'd love to be able to apply CSS to the paypal pro checkout page

Hello,

I'm afraid not. We don't have any current plans to offer those kinds of customizations on the credit card checkout page for security and compatibility reasons. That page is centrally hosted on our server and is the same page that is used for all of our merchants that have the corresponding PayPal Pro/Authorize.net payment gateway.

Any changes made to that page would affect everyone across the board, so it isn't something that we could easily add a customization option for.

Where can i get a view of what upcoming features you guys are working on?

eJunkie is a neat solution that does what it does very well, however i think it is very limited compared to a lot of the carts that are seen on modern ecommerce sites. Key features such as mini-cart, complete control over look and feel, up-sell / cross-sell features and flexible discounts are all missing (your discounts are flexible to an extent but not flexible enough - contact me if you want to know what i mean).

eJunkie costs me £16 a month and right now, I do not feel like this is good value because many of seemingly obvious features are missing and there does not seem to be anything interesting on the horizon which is even more disapointing.

Please prove me wrong.

Development keeps their plans pretty close to the vest; we do not promise or announce new features until they're actually complete, tested and ready to roll out live. We can add your suggestions to the wishlist for consideration as possible new features at some point in the future, but some things may simply never be possible due to the nature of E-junkie as a centrally-managed, "hosted" solution shared in common among all our sellers, rather than a "licensed" solution where each seller installs their own copy of the software on their own server.

Honestly, if what you need is a full-featured, "all-singing, all-dancing" e-commerce solution with a storefront CMS and other highly sophisticated types of features such as you mentioned, then E-junkie is probably just not the right solution for you. Plenty of other options exist which already do most or all of you need; that market segment is saturated with competing solutions, which is one reason we're not trying compete with them directly.

E-junkie was founded to serve an e-commerce market niche that has historically gone largely ignored: helping independent entrepreneurs with limited technical inclination or time constraints get a basic online shop up and running as quickly and easily as possible. We position our service as a very simple, basic, no-frills solution for very simple, basic, no-frills needs, placing ease of implementation first and foremost. We're like a hammer: a basic tool that performs a few basic functions very well; if what you actually need is a Swiss army knife, you're better off just getting one of those, rather than trying to sharpen your hammer and bolt attachments to it. :^)
