Hello,
I'm still a bit confused as to the two different ways to set up an affiliate program. I understand that the common affiliate program allows you to set a single commission percentage for all products sold on my site. However, what if I decided to change the percentage commission on just one of my products? Do I go into the product specific affiliate setting and simply enter that new percentage? In other words, does the individual product settings override the common affiliate settings?
It seems like it would be better to have a single set-up screen for affiliate programs - not two separate screens as it is set up now.
Thanks!

Yes, if you configure a product-based Affiliate percentage, that would override any Common Affiliate percentage you had otherwise configured, and you don't even need to enable the product-based Hop Link, as a Common Hop Link will credit Affiliates for the proper percentage.
The reason the settings are in separate places is because the Common settings were recently added, so we had to retain the older product-based settings as they were, and it didn't make sense to try and add the Common settings into there. Perhaps we could consider eventually adding the dropdown menu for product-based settings into the new Affiliate Program Settings screen itself.
