No download emails, no link for free copy

I launched a new product at about 8:30 pm (EST) last night, and my customers are seeing the screen that tells them to expect an email with the download link, but that email isn't showing up. This seems to be fairly universal.

I checked my E-Junkie download log, and I'm not seeing any downloads at all. I'm not sure if that's because the files haven't been updated... or if my customers really haven't been downloading the product at all. (That's a scary thought.)

So, I figured I'd send each customer a free copy (after confirming their purchases at PayPal). However, when I went to my E-Junkie form to send a free copy, that's the one product that isn't showing up in the drop-down menu.

Until E-Junkie opens and replies... any ideas about what I might be doing wrong? I've never had a problem like this with E-Junkie, in nearly a year of doing business here.

I think I may have identified the problem. I had spaces in the name of my PDF.

When I changed the title of the PDF and uploaded it as a new product, everything worked fine. I have my "send aFree download link" list, I have a customer list for sending newsletters, and I've had only one complaint about a missing download email.

So, that may have been the issue.

Hello,

It looks like the reason for this problem is the product in question does not have "single file download" selected for it. Perhaps you accidentally unchecked that box?

Not having that selected would cause both symptoms you described above.

Hi,

I'm having a problem with the downloads log as well. I just created a new product, and I have the "single file download" checked, along with a file uploaded. I just did a test transaction and downloaded the file, but nothing is appearing in the downloads log. (It does appear in the transaction log.)

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Eddy

Eddy,

I believe I already responded to your e-mail on this. Because you did a test transaction, and not a free download link, the information on the order, even a free order, will be in the transaction log.
