I've been searching the forums and have seen some discussion of this issue, with no apparent solution - I just wanted to verify that there is no way to do the following within e-junkie: 1) User clicks my Facebook ad. 2) User is redirected to my landing page. 3) User clicks my e-book purchase link (Buy Now - not a cart) and purchases my e-book via Paypal. 4) I track how many sales are coming from Facebook ads each day. From what I've seen in the forums, it is not possible to track something simple like this within e-junkie because with Paypal the buyer is not automatically directed to the thank you page. Is that correct, or can I actually track these sales? # POSTED ON: February 27, 2009 @ 11:57 GMT -7 |

You could append a GET parameter to the landing page URL you specify for your ad links -- something like "a=fb" or whatever you wish in a name=value pair, keeping the name part the same but changing the value for every ad link you post -- so users would arrive at your landing page URL like this: http://www.example.com/buy.html?a=fb Then your landing page could have some PHP or JavaScript embedded which gets the value for "a" (or whatever parameter name you chose) out of its own URL and appends it to your Buy Now button URL as a &custom= value like this: <a href="https://www.e-junkie.com/ecom/gb.php?i=XXXXX&c=single&cl=YYYYY& custom=fb" target="ejejcsingle"><img src="http://www.e-junkie.com/ej/x-click-butcc.gif" border="0" alt="Buy Now"/></a> Then those custom values would show up for each transaction in your E-junkie Transaction Log. # POSTED ON: March 1, 2009 @ 12:55 GMT -7 MODIFIED ON: March 1, 2009 @ 12:58 GMT -7 |

Hey Tyson, Sorry if it's not an e-junkie topic, but I've been trawling the net and can't find an answer. I'm trying to specify the 'Boxes' tab as the landing page for new visitors to my FB business page but I can't find out how to do it? Can you possibly shed any light in my ignorant direction? cheers # POSTED ON: March 19, 2009 @ 21:07 GMT -7 |

If the user is already logged into their own FB account, then I thin this should take them directly to your Boxes page: http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=XXXXXXXXX&v=box_3 (The XXXXXXXXX will be a unique number for your account, of course. :^) # POSTED ON: March 22, 2009 @ 12:49 GMT -7 |

Thanks Brian but I'm not sure how i can apply that for when people hit my page. If you check out the Cosmoplitan Magazine FB page, they have specified the landing page for new visitors and I'd like to have the same thing on my business page... http://www.facebook.com/pages/Cosmopolitan-Magazine/8358247707? sid=2873a82af5dc4db407bd4590abe602d7&ref=s sorry id I hadn't explained it properly.. :) # POSTED ON: March 22, 2009 @ 12:55 GMT -7 |

Honestly, you should inquire with Facebook help about what the direct URL to your profile's Boxes screen would be, if that's even possible; we are not them and so don't know much about how they work, and I already gave you my best personal guess. Good luck! # POSTED ON: March 22, 2009 @ 20:32 GMT -7 |

I had a similar issue that I was able to get around by switching my links to route through an online ad tracking system called Tracker Kahuna. It solved all the issues I was having with Facebook and Twitter. Check them out at http://kurld.com/da # POSTED ON: September 15, 2009 @ 08:00 GMT -7 |

The answer: Use the plugin: shortcode exec php Grab the referrer with the php code. Put the shortcode at the end of your buy button or urls. (use custom=referrer) Assuming you use WordPress for your pages. Kenn # POSTED ON: September 17, 2012 @ 07:13 GMT -7 MODIFIED ON: September 17, 2012 @ 07:15 GMT -7 |
