Shipping discount setup

Hi,
I'm trying to set up shipping discounts using the table method as outlined in the help section. Here is the info I'm using:

If you want to use order amount based shipping

1. Go to Admin > Cart Shipping Settings.
2. Set the handling price to the maximum shipping cost in your table ($20 in our example)
3. Go to Admin > Cart discounts
4. Set the shipping discounts without any discount code and enter the minimum order total and discount percentage as required by your shipping table:

Example:

o Create a 80% ($4 is 20% of $20) discount for orders with minimum order total of $1
o Create a 75% ($5 is 25% of $20) discount for orders with minimum order total of $11
o Create a 50% ($10 is 50% of $20) discount for orders with minimum order total of $21
o Create a 0% ($20 is 100% of $20) discount for orders with minimum order total of $101

Even though last discount is 0%, it is still required as each discount sets the barriers for your shipping table.

I've set up my shipping cost table, I've put the maximum amount in the Define Handling box. I've also tried it by setting an amount in the Define Packaging column.

I've set up a series of discounts as per the instructions above.

However, the maximum shipping always shows up.

Please advise! Thanks.

Did you set the discounts with "Applies to:" Shipping, rather than Item Total? You can go to Seller Admin > Cart Discounts, select a discount from the menu and click Load to view/edit settings for that discount, then Submit to save changes.

They were/are all set to apply to shipping, so that is not the problem.

I notice also that shipping is being added for each item added to the cart rather than for the total order.

Just wondering if there is a solution to the problem as stated in my original post? As far as I can tell I have set it up according to the directions provided by e-junkie.

Also wondering about the second issue mentioned just above, and that is to have shipping calculated on the dollar value of the total order, not on each individual item ordered. Currently the system is adding shipping for each item ordered. But it is charging the maximum shipping cost (as per my original post), not discounting for the total amount ordered.

Here is the order page, if that helps: http://www.st-city-organic-coffee-roaster.com/coffee-order-page.html

Thanks.
Kim

It appears we're already discussing this via email, so we can just continue the discussion there if necessary.
