I've had a number of people ask me this morning where their download emails are? Seems like the last bunch of transactions that have occurred haven't sent out emails.... anything wrong with the system at the moment?

Our system processes every sale the instant PayPal sends us an IPN confirming completed payment.

Unfortunately, starting late yesterday afternoon, PayPal had some glitches in their IPN system causing a backlog of delayed IPNs they were working to catch up with until early this morning.
