I am looking into using an e-commerce solution, possibly E-junkie, but I need something very specific out of whatever platform I ultimately choose. I have several employees who sell the company product, and I am looking for a way for each to get credit for their sales. In other words, I would like each employee to have a specific code assigned to him or her, so that when a customer buys the product through a particular employee, that customer enters the employee's number. This way I can automatically keep track of each employee's sales and award them accordingly. Is there a way that the the discount codes, or even affiliate tracking, could be used for this purpose? Thanks for your responses. # POSTED ON: September 14, 2009 @ 19:28 GMT -7 |

Our built-in Affiliate system would be the most reliable and hassle-free way to accomplish what you describe: http://www.e-junkie.com/ej/help.affiliates.htm This page explains the basic functionality of our affiliate system from an affiliate's perspective: http://www.e-junkie.com/ej/help.affiliates.htm If your sales agents will be referring buyers to your site in-person or via phone as well as (or instead of) posting referral links on their own Web pages, then you could facilitate that by using a "URL shortening" service like tinyurl.com or bit.ly (there are dozens of similar services, each with different features you may find useful). For instance, our standard HTML code for an Affiliate Hop Link looks like this: <a href="https://www.e-junkie.com/ecom/gb.php?cl=XXXXX&c=ib&aff=YYYYY" target="ejejcsingle">Click here to view more details</a> ...then the URL portion of that would be just this part: https://www.e-junkie.com/ecom/gb.php?cl=XXXXX&c=ib&aff=YYYYY ...then you could submit that URL to tinyurl.com or bit.ly to get a short, simple URL that auto-redirects to the real affiliate URL, but which is easier to say over the phone or write on a business card/napkin/etc. like so: www.bit.ly/a1b2c3 ...or using a custom option when submitting the link, you could make the shortened URL even easier, like so: www.bit.ly/tyson-n-sales # POSTED ON: September 15, 2009 @ 19:28 GMT -7 |

Tyson, thanks for your reply. I understand the basic concept of affiliate systems, but I don't think that's exactly what I need. If one of my employees is out in the field and lets someone know about our product, then that person goes to our website and makes some purchases, I want the employee to get credit for those sales. If I made each employee an affiliate, then they would have to have their own web pages, or customers would have to click on a link in an email or something to get to our website in order to keep track. It seems like a coupon code system might work better, in which each employee has a discount code assigned, and gives it out to potential customers. Does this sound plausible? If this worked, is there a way of keeping track of the total sales amount associated with each coupon code? Thanks for your reply. # POSTED ON: September 16, 2009 @ 08:19 GMT -7 |

Any Discount Codes redeemed would be reported in your E-junkie Transaction Log. When you go into Seller Admin > View/Download Transaction Log, your initial log view will show sales for the past rolling-month. You can select a different date range and/or specific product and click View Log to show only those transactions. You can click Download Log to save your current log view to a plaintext CSV file where, e.g., you could search the file for any Discount Codes, or open it in a spreadsheet program to sort rows by the Discount Codes column. # POSTED ON: September 16, 2009 @ 17:14 GMT -7 |
