How to create a button for a package price of a product that has options?

I am selling a tangible product that comes in different colors and sizes and have that add to cart button created already and it's working just fine. Now I want the customer to have the option of buying 5 of that one product and get a different price (i.e. 5 for $20.00) AND be able to choose any color of that product - which is the scenario I assume most buyers will want.

Scenario: I have a shirt with different colors and prints. Sold individually the cost is $5 but if bought in a group of 5, the cost is $20 but I'm sure the customer would want to be able to indicate which colors they'd like instead of 5 of the same color.

Is this possible with e-junkie?

Thanks!

Yes, you can do that with our Discounts feature:
http://www.e-junkie.com/ej/help.discounts.htm

If you want to offer the discount on any 5-or-more versions of the same product (such as we discussed in our other thread here), you'd want to select that product on the Cart Discount Settings screen, then set a Min. Item Qty. =5 (when you do a product-specific discount, this will only count the qty of that product), and then specify a flat amount the PER-UNIT price of that item should be discounted.

Thanks so much again for your help! I am completely loving this product and all the options available to do what more expensive shopping carts boast! :-)

Okay, just finished adding the discount to the product and am now testing to ensure it works - which is does just fine if I set the quantity in the cart to 5 - perfect! However, that would be 5 of the same color. If I added the same product to the cart 5 times (different colors), no discount is applied. I assume that's just the functionality of the system. However, is there a way to have the discount automatically applied if the product is in the cart 5 times (regardless of color)?

I also tried another option and added a discount code the customer would have to manually put in if they bought 5 of the same product but different colors. What happens here is if I add one product and try to use the discount, it alerts me saying I need 5 of this product in order to get the discount -great! But when I add 5 of the same product to the cart (but different colors) and try to apply the discount, it doesn't recognize that the product is in the cart 5 times just different colors.

Any other suggestions here? I didn't see anything in the help/forum about this one...but maybe I missed something...thanks in advance for your help!

Hm, I had thought that different Variants of the same product would still count as the "same" product for discounts; apparently I was mistaken in that, but I'll ask Development if there's any way they could make it work that way, as that seems sensible.

Meanwhile, you might consider making an automatic (no-code) discount for All Cart Items with Min. Item Quantity=5, so any 5 or more items added to the cart would take a percentage off the whole-order Item Total.

If that won't work (say, if you also sell small-dollar accessories that you don't want triggering the discount), you could keep the product-specific discount requiring a code, but remove the Min. Item Quantity; then you'd just have to catch orders where the code was redeemed without actually having 5 or more qualifying items in the order.
