Shipping Configuration First Class & Priority

Hi, I have the new shipping configuration pretty much figured out.

BUT ... I was able to ship most of my products as USPS Priority in the past, and have just one product that I ship First Class. I was able to do this by setting the container differently.

Since the upgrades to the shipping portion of e-Junkie this does not work for me.

All of my orders will need to be configured for USPS Priority Mail. But is there a way to only set one single product to ship First Class Mail without giving customers the First Class or Priority shipping for all products?

Thank you!

Is the one product that needs to be sent First Class heavier or most expensive the the others?

No, it's lighter and I want to ship it in a regular #10 envelope.

Thank you!

What you can do is setup a shipping rule for 1st class shipping that has a weight maximum of that product. Then for any weight over the weight of the product you want 1st class shipping for, you will setup a second shipping rule for USPS Priority.

I don't think the above will work for me because I have hundreds of products and I don't want to have to go back in and change them all. I have everything set up already and working.

Is there a way to specify a different shipping box or tube for one item so I can make that one item ship at a different price? This used to work.

And if I would go in and make the First Class Item heavier then the shipping cost would be too high for a standard #10 envelope. It needs to ship for .75 cents.

Perhaps I can charge for the item instead ... and have free shipping? That might work!

Thank you for your help!

We're not clear what you mean about having to edit hundreds of products? Our Shipping Rules are cart-wide regardless of product(s) ordered, rather than product-specific, and you can set min./max. order weight thresholds to enable/disable a Shipping Rule in the cart. See more details here:
http://www.e-junkie.com/ej/help.shipping.htm

Your suggestion of having a different shipping container for the First Class product(s) could work, or you might consider just setting up a Shipping Rule using our "USPS - Cheapest Available" method, which is the same as our old USPS live rate-lookup method -- this obtains the rate for First Class and Priority and applies whichever is cheaper for the order's weight and destination. This will normally result in a First Class rate for orders under 13 oz., and Priority for orders above 13 oz., as First Class is not genearlly available above that weight.
