My website (http://www.candytorahs.com) had a problem. A couple of them, actually. Here's a summary of the user's experience BEFORE e-junkie. BEFORE e-junkie - Ugh! User loads the page - OK User designs the product by making menu selections - OK Website displays the current design - OK Time to check out, user clicks the Add To Cart button - OK Internet Explorer warns the user that my website is about to access their clipboard - OH NO!! -- My old cart wouldn't let me pass data into it. I had to make users "copy" their choices -- If (and it's a big if) the user clicks "Allow Access", the old shopping cart page loaded in a new tab - OH NO!! The shopping cart has a totally different look than my website - OH NO!! The user goes through the LONG registration process, putting in their personal info into the cart - OH NO!! Finally, at the "Special Instructions" the user must paste their choices - OH NO!! Suppose they forget? Or just don't know how? Then they click Paypal and go to ANOTHER website - OH COME ON ALREADY! If they don't have a Paypal account, they have to enter their personal information in AGAIN - CAN THIS REALLY BE HAPPENING?? It's a miracle anyone made it through this horrible check-out process. Actually, very few people ever did. AFTER e-junkie - Wow! User loads the page - OK User designs the product by making menu selections - OK Website displays the current design - OK Time to check out, user clicks the Add To Cart button - OK The awesome-looking Web 2.0 cart floats right over my own page (which is dimmed and still visible) - LOOKING GOOD The user makes simple quantity and Zipcode adjustments and updates the cart - NICE AND EASY They click the Paypal button, and the details of their order are available to them right on the Paypal page - GOOD CONTINUITY They complete their transaction, send me all their money and I become rich. - SUCCESS You see, e-junkie lets me pass data into the cart. No copy and paste required. Completely transparent to that lucky shopper. The look and feel is smooth and professional. You've got to see the e-junkie shopping cart to believe it. It looks great and provides a great user experience. And it costs me HALF as much as my old cart! Thanks e-junkie! And thanks to that wonderful fellow who recommended that I check you out! Very nice, Harry. Ordering is really easy, and it looks very professional. Should do well. Shipping to the UK was expensive, though: 43 dollars for a ten dollar item. Yikes! # POSTED ON: October 22, 2007 @ 12:04 GMT -7 |
