This started about a month ago, and happens randomly every 20 or 30 orders. Example from a PayPal payment email: Sub-Total: $74.95 Shipping and Handling: $3.24 Total: $78.74 (should be, and usually is, $78.19) Other than adding a new product recently, we have not messed with shipping settings, nor does this mess up occur only with the new product, but rather apparently is random, as far as we can tell. Has something changed in the past month or two in e-junkie and/or PayPal that would explain this? Ed # POSTED ON: August 21, 2010 @ 09:25 GMT -7 |

Could you provide the Transaction IDs of both an affected payment and an unaffected payment for the same type of order? Since those IDs count as proof of purchase, feel free to email those to us privately: https://www.e-junkie.com/ej/contact.php # POSTED ON: August 22, 2010 @ 18:44 GMT -7 |

We just had a $13 discrepancy occur!! That amount becomes tough to fudge. Can you find out what the status of this is? Thanks, Ed # POSTED ON: August 25, 2010 @ 10:07 GMT -7 |

Hm, there's been no word back from them on this yet, so I'll have to check up on the status of this investigation. # POSTED ON: September 2, 2010 @ 15:14 GMT -7 |

Almost three weeks now. At this point, is there any realistic expectation that this is actively being looked at? Thanks, Ed # POSTED ON: September 9, 2010 @ 09:37 GMT -7 |

P.S. - These errors are still occurring every couple of dozen orders or so. Ed # POSTED ON: September 9, 2010 @ 09:38 GMT -7 |

We also received your latest email and forwarded that information to our Development team for further research; we have not received any word back from them about this issue so far. Could you clarify exactly where you are seeing these incorrect totals reported? Are you receiving accurate payment in full, and just seeing the total reported inaccurately somewhere in your account on PayPal's site or in the PayPal payment receipt email you receive, or is there a discrepancy in the actual payment amount of funds you're receiving? If everything is being reported accurately in your E-junkie Transaction Log and your E-junkie Sale Notification email, and if you're only seeing the inaccuracies in your PayPal account or emails from PayPal, then the problem is certainly at PayPal's end. In that case, you should pursue further investigation with them, as we would have zero influence with them in this matter. # POSTED ON: September 9, 2010 @ 15:27 GMT -7 |

The ACTUAL payment amount is wrong! The e-junkie logs don't show totals, right? So this doesn't manifest itself there. The PayPal email (as well as PayPal itself) somehow has a Total Payment Amount that is NOT the sum of the cart, plus shipping (and tax, if applicable). Usually it's short, but sometime over. The NY Sales Tax may be a red herring. My most recent transaction I sent had that tax, so I sent it to you as a different iteration of the same problem. Most times this error is occurring with wrong math in simply the product and the shipping. Again, this only happens every 20 or so orders, but it has happened for a month now. And again, the exact same cart total and shipping is calculated correctly most times, but wrong once-in-a-while. That's what makes it so strange. Ed # POSTED ON: September 9, 2010 @ 16:07 GMT -7 |

What makes it extra strange is that you are the only one, out of our nearly 10,000 subscribed sellers, reporting this problem, which suggests there may be something unusual about your own PayPal account in particular, so I would keep pursuing the matter with PayPal Support I think that we don't even calculate an order total to pass to PayPal (our Developers would know about this for sure); rather, we just pass item prices with tax and shipping amounts to checkout, and PayPal calculates the payment total from those figures. If so, that would indicate that whatever is going on must be happening at PayPal's end after we hand-off the cart data to them for checkout. This is just a lark, but by any chance might you have any sort of discounts set up in your PayPal account, or might any currency conversion be involved at all? # POSTED ON: September 9, 2010 @ 18:56 GMT -7 |
