I can't figure out how to do virtually unlimited variant options. I sell Granola and need people to be able to add which "mix-ins" they want with thier granola. There are 11 mixins total, i.e. chocolate, raisins, coconut, apples etc. So people need to be able to order the base granola and then add in as many "mix-ins" as they wish. Each mix-in would need to add .50 per unit of base granola ordered. Example, If someone orders 2 lbs of granola, it should offer a drop down box (or something like that) of which mix-ins they want with their granola. If they were to choose 3 mixins, it needs to add $1.50 per pound of Granola ordered. How do I set that up? If the mixins need to be ordered seperately I need it to somehow tie into the base granola ordered. So that someone can't order mixins without the base or only order 1 unit of mixins but 5 units of base. # POSTED ON: September 17, 2010 @ 07:37 GMT -7 |

Hi, A drop down menu would not be a good way to handle this issue, as you can select only one option out of a drop down and a list of every possible combination would be extremely unwieldy. My personal recommendation would be to sell the granola and the mix-ins separately, with each $0.50 unit of a mix-in ingredient representing its own volume rather than a percentage of the overall granola mix. There's no real way to tie the prices of different products together so you could not multiply the price of the mix-ins based on the number of pounds of granola sold. It should be possible to have our cart customized to make a purchase of the base granola mix mandatory in order to add in the extra ingredients, but that would take extra programming at the hands of an experienced developer. You can contact developers who have experience with our cart via our developer directory: http://www.e-junkie.com/ej/developer-directory.htm # POSTED ON: September 17, 2010 @ 17:37 GMT -7 |
