After clicking the Inventory Control check box I am suppose to be presented with a screen to enter my inventory amount. This never happens and so when I place the product up it always says out of stock.

I was able to get it to function for other products by using the "variations" option for most of my items this isn't necessary.

After you enable Inventory Control in a product's settings and click Next, on one of the following screens you should see a field for "Limit product sales to" where you can enter your inventory stock. If you have also enabled "Variants having individual price/weight/stock/sku" for the product, then you would need to specify an inventory stock for every possible combination of options in your Variants configuration lines.

That makes sense. For some reason I was reading the "Limit product sales to" as something else.
