(apologies if this is a redundant question, but I couldn't find it after browsing awhile...) I am thinking about building an application that would essentially just use e-junkie as a simple/secure payment processor. My internal website application would handle all of the inventory management, pricing, product listings, etc... I'm curious if anyone has any suggestions for how we could have the web application: 1- Calculate the value, 2- Pass this information on to a product in the cart which allows users to name their own price. I was hoping to just have a "Buy Now" button and use javascript to update the field with the pricing info, but name your own price isn't supported for buy now buttons. I realize this is a somewhat strange question! The reason for it is that I'm trying to build an otherwise fairly simple ecommerce system with a few quirky functionality requirements (which seem to be just quirky enough to require extensive mods to something like e-junkie on its own)... but I would prefer to not try to handle the actual payment processing on our own servers, as this is not my area of expertise. Any input would be much appreciated. Thanks for your time! # POSTED ON: November 12, 2010 @ 16:40 GMT -7 |

Hello, We actually aren't a payment processor, so you would not be able to use our service in the manner you describe. We rely on third party services such as PayPal to handle payments, what you are describing is basically re-creating everything that we already provide so there wouldn't be any benefit to channel orders through our system on their way to a payment processor if you created such a setup of your own. # POSTED ON: November 12, 2010 @ 17:08 GMT -7 |

I figured as much... Thanks for your incredibly timely response/confirmation though. Honestly, my ideal is still to figure out a way to just use your system and pass the order information on to our own server. Have been reading a lot of your (excellent) documentation on that, but so far the solution is still eluding me. If I can home in on one particular problem point, I may post another question for help on it. My specific problem with this project aside, I must say that I LOVE what I've seen from e-Junkie :) # POSTED ON: November 12, 2010 @ 17:19 GMT -7 |

Thank you. :) We can pass data for orders our cart processes on to your own server so that you can manage it as necessary. If you could give us more information on your particular requirements we may be able to offer more insight on how to handle your needs. Our service is very customizable and can be adapted in many ways beyond our documented uses. # POSTED ON: November 12, 2010 @ 17:31 GMT -7 |

I'll try to describe probably the biggest implementation challenge I'm seeing right now... I would like our system to track gift certificate credit amounts internally for each of our users, so that when the logged user checks out with a purchase they would have the ability to apply their gift certificate balance to their order. Do you have any ideas for how something like that might be accomplished with e-Junkie? I figured that our system would probably need to calculate the total discount amount and pass that information onto the shopping cart somehow (which is why I was hoping that there might be a way to adjust the purchase price in the cart somehow, maybe via javascript). But it sounds like that may not be an option. Anyway, any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated :) - Michael # POSTED ON: November 14, 2010 @ 12:41 GMT -7 |

Hm, I can't think if any way to accomplish that with our system, since discounts have to be set for fixed amounts or percentages in our database via Seller Admin, so there's no way to pass a discount value from your end, and our system cannot track unspent value on any particular discount code (this is why we call them "Gift Coupons" rather than "Gift Certificates", to make this limitation clearer). # POSTED ON: November 14, 2010 @ 17:34 GMT -7 |
