Testing an affiliate link

I'd like to test an affiliate link and see if we are tracking the purchases from that site. The only way I can think to do that I to create and purchase a product. (maybe make one for $1.)

Is there another way?

Thanks

That'd be the most complete way to test the entire process, though you could just do that with an existing product. Then you can simply refund the payment once you've confirmed that the commission was granted properly, and that would rescind the commission earned on that purchase.

If you'd rather not make an actual purchase, you can at least verify their link is setting a referral cookie for your program in our affiliate system. First, clear cookies in your browser, then follow the affiliate's link and verify it redirects to your site, and then examine the cookies set in your browser. You should see a cookie set for e-junkie.com, named ej_aff_id69683 (that's the ID for your affiliate program), with a content value matching the affiliate's E-junkie account ID (they can get this ID number from their E-junkie Affiliate Admin).
