First of all let me say I’ve been using E-Junkie for digital downloads of my E-Book for many months now and it has work flawlessly. Glad I found you guys! I also have tangible goods on my web site, so I’m trying to see if I can use it for that as well. I’ve searched the forum a lot and haven’t been able to find the exact answer to my shipping question. If you go to this test ordering page (customers can’t see it)….. http://www.puppetsandprops.com/PackageDeals2.html ….for a United States order (I use 90630 as the zip code), if I add the first item on the page (a head casting) to the cart, it shows $8.80 for shipping, which is correct. The head weighs 34 oz. My shipping for the U.S. is only for Priority Mail, with $1.00 handling added. If I change the quantity to 2, or add the second item on the page (another head casting which weighs the same) to the cart, the shipping is $11.25. That is correct as well. But if I have just one cast head in the cart (34 oz.) and add the third item on the page (relaxed pose hand castings), the shipping is $13.40. The hands weigh half of what a head weighs (17 oz.). Why does a head and hands (51 oz. total) cost more to ship than shipping 2 heads (68 oz. total)? Even worse if I try International shipping. I did the following….. Australia, Postal Code 5371 It tried each of these….. (1) E head (34 oz. total) $47.40 – that seems correct. (2) E heads (68 oz. total) $58.70 – that seems correct. (1) ‘E’ heads & (1) Fred head (68 oz. total) $58.70 – that seems correct. (1) “E’ head and (1) pair hands (51 oz. total) $82.90 – That’s really high! So apparently it’s pricing it out (both domestic and international) as if they are going in individual packages, instead of one box. The deal is, a cast head and a pair of cast hands will fit into one medium size box easily. And that’s the way it should be sent of course, if they do that as all one order. (if you try that, only do it for Australia, as that’s the only shipping rule I’ve set up for testing) So…………what might I be doing wrong, or what am I missing? Or am I asking too much of the cart's current configuration? What other info do you need from me to help figure this out? Thanks in advance for any help you can give! I think you may be running afoul of the number of separate parcels we submit to the rate calculator; more parcels for a given weight cost more than the same weight shipped as just one parcel. If you want every order to be calculated as a single-parcel shipment with all items shipped in the same box together, make sure you configure every product to use the same Packaging Type and set their Packing Capacity to some absurdly high quantity like 999. # POSTED ON: January 10, 2011 @ 15:18 GMT -7 |

Thanks much for the timely reply! I just tried that and what you suggested fixed the problem. I would have never figured that out on my own. Thanks again! Mike B. # POSTED ON: January 10, 2011 @ 20:19 GMT -7 |
