I am new and in the process of setting up my cart. In my old cart I was able to set the shipping variables to the cart total sale, such as a purchase total of 0-$20.00 shipping would be $5.95, $20.01 - $45.00 shipping would be $6.95, etc. etc., no matter how many items it took to get those totals. This worked well for me because my items are small (soaps and skin care products). With the e-junkie cart it looks like I can't do the same? I have followed the help directions and have set each products weight/ounces. I set the box as small, but in reality, if they order several items I could end up needing to use a big box. With the small box setting I have set the number of items to 5, but sometimes orders for more than 5 items can be put into a bigger box for not that much more in shipping so when the cart totals 6 items it is doubling the price. I am very confused and have read the help section several times and have adjusted/tested different boxes and item totals. Do just the weight variables make the shipping adjust? Is the box style important or can I just set them all at regular box even though many times I use the small priority box? If I set the item total to an unreasonably high number would that make it adjust properly? Any help is very greatly appreciated! Thank you # POSTED ON: January 10, 2011 @ 23:55 GMT -7 |

If you would prefer to set shipping calculation as flat rates based on order total, you can do that using our Shipping Rules feature. In this case, weights and package types would not matter, so you can just leave what you've set up for each product as it is. Go to Seller Admin > Cart Shipping Settings and set up the following: # Shipping Origin: select your country and enter your zipcode (if you're outside the US, just enter any 5-digit number); # Shipping Destinations: if you will only ship to certain countries, select them in the list, or otherwise select nothing for Worldwide shipping; # Leave all other settings blank or 0.00; # Click Next to save settings and proceed to the Shipping Rules screen. In the Existing Shipping Rules menu, select and Delete any Rules you may have saved there. Set up your first Shipping Rule for Domestic shipping: # Shipping Rate Calculator: Flat # Shipping Amount: 5.95 # Country: Select your country; # Max. Item Total: 20.00 # Click Submit to save the Rule. Next Domestic Rule: # Shipping Rate Calculator: Flat # Shipping Amount: 6.95 # Country: Select your country; # Min. Item Total: 20.01 # Max. Item Total: 45.00 # Click Submit to save the Rule. Continue creating Rules for other order-total thresholds. For your top rule, you can just leave the Max. Item Total blank (or 0, same effect) to have no maximum threshold. If you will ship Internationally at different rates: # Shipping Rate Calculator: Flat # Shipping Amount: [your lowest int'l flat rate here] # Country: All Countries (i.e., rest of the world, covers all countries you'd selected in the Shipping Destinations list which don't have Rules of their own); # Max. Item Total: 20.00 # Click Submit to save the Rule. Continue creating Rules for Int'l destinations at other order total thresholds. Click Back to Admin, and you're done! # POSTED ON: January 11, 2011 @ 18:32 GMT -7 |

I am wanting a flat rate for US, Canada, then one for all other international flat rate for US $3 flat rate for Canada $3 Flat rate for everyone else $4 I tested two items and added to cart for US shipping and it only gives me $3 and not $6. What have I missed? Also, is there any way to say $3 for first item and $1 per each additional? Thanks! # POSTED ON: January 13, 2011 @ 21:28 GMT -7 |

Creating a shipping rule for a flat rate means that rate is applied once across the board. Your US orders would be $3 regardless of how many items ordered under a flat rate. If you want it to be $3 per item then you would need to select the "price per unit" option in shipping rules. If you want to work something out where you charge $3 for the first item and $1 for each additional you can use the Handling charge feature to set a base price of $2 and then create a "$1 price per unit" shipping rule on top of that. That would result in $3 for the first item, with an additional dollar for each following item. # POSTED ON: January 14, 2011 @ 10:39 GMT -7 |
