PayPal has announced planned maintenance for 04-05Aug2011 11pm-2am PDT which is expected to cause some brief disruptions in PayPal API service (affecting Website Payments Pro, Payflow Pro, and PayPal for Digital Goods checkout, although regular Website Payments Standard should not be affected):

NOTIFICATION: During this maintenance window we are expecting to have a series of short service disruptions:
- 3 minute PLANNED DOWNTIME between 11:00 PM PDT (August 5 6:00 AM GMT, 7:00 AM UK and 8:00 AM Central Europe) and 11:05 PM PDT (August 5 6:05 AM GMT, 7:05 AM UK and 8:05 AM Central Europe). The majority of PayPal API calls will fail to complete and return Internal error 10001 or Authentication/Authorization Failed error 10002. PayPal users will encounter error "Sorry - your last action could not be completed" when trying to log in to www.paypal.com.
- 10 minute intermittent service disruption between 11:05 PM PDT (August 5 6:05 AM GMT, 7:05 AM UK and 8:05 AM Central Europe) and 11:15 PM PDT (August 4 6:15 AM GMT, 7:15 AM UK and 8:15 AM Central Europe).
- 3 minute intermittent service disruption between August 5 12:05 AM PDT (August 5 7:05 AM GMT, 8:05 AM UK and 9:05 AM Central Europe) and August 5 12:10 AM PDT (August 5 7:10 AM GMT, 8:10 AM UK and 9:10 AM Central Europe).
While we do not anticipate any significant impact during the last two timeframes, merchants may experience some API slowness and some API calls may fail to complete.
