2checkout Buy Now buttons and Sales Tax

I have a site that is selling just two products through e-Junkie: 1) a tangible goods resource kit at $169 and 2) the same kit offered at $99 as a digital download zip file. The customer will only buy one or the other.

I really want to use 2checkout because I'm being eaten alive by merchant account fees with my small monthly volume. I understand you only support Buy Now buttons with 2checkout, but you've indicated that Sales Tax is not supported. I am obligated to collect Sales Tax in Texas only. Can I sell my products at these two fixed prices customers in all states, but pay Texas sales tax out of my pocket on sales to Texas customers? (Sales Tax would be included in my standard pricing for customers in Texas).

Shipping is not an issue since I already offer free shipping for the tangible goods kit and shipping doesn't apply to the digital download.

Thanks,
HOAGUY

You can choose to pay the sales tax out of your own pocket and not use our sales tax feature. You might also want to check with 2Checkout, they may have a way to add the sales tax in on their end, so you can still charge sales tax to buyers from Texas.

Thanks for your reply. I'm learning more about 2Checkout and will see if the sales tax can be handled on their end.
