I just have a few questions about how shipping is calculated for multiple tangible items using the E-Junkie shopping cart.
We've entered the weight for each of the tangible item we're selling and we've specified what type of shipping container would be used for each item (as well as that container's weight).
For this example, let's say we have a mug that weighs 16oz and we've specified that we can fit one per small box. And we also have a Tshirt that weighs 4oz and we can fit one per large envelope.
What would happen if someone came to the site and ordered six mugs? Or six mugs and four Tshirts?
I assume shipping would be calculated for the ten items as though they would each be shipped as individual packages. If that's correct, is there any way within the seller admin that I can include a little more logic or better organize my items so that is multiple items are purchased, shipping can be calculated using a single larger container?

As you said, as per your current settings, shipping will be calculated for the ten items as though they would each be shipped as individual packages.
There is no way to specify to the calculator to use a bigger box in case more items are being ordered.
The best approach here will be to use a medium box and change the capacity to 5. That will provide you a sort of middle ground.
Or
You can specify a shipping discount in Admin > Cart discounts which will give user some relief on shipping cost for orders over a certain amount.
