How do i configure EJ so that I can prevent users ordering more than X quantity of products before entering a discount code? As an example, I want to allow anyone to order to up to say 20 products, but if they want more than 20, they need to enter a discount code to get the trade price. Configuring the quantity at the add to cart button will not work because some users (who have the discount code) will legitimatley want to add more than 20 of a given product (and certainly more than 20 products in total). This is mainly related to limiting my liability for chargeback requests. However it is also to do with providing a better service for my trade customers. # POSTED ON: June 21, 2012 @ 14:07 GMT -7 |

While we don't have a way to do quite what you describe (blocking orders above a certain quantity unless a discount code is provided), you can at least configure discounts with a Min. Item Quantity that would be required to apply the discount. Discounts which apply to All Cart Items would consider the quantity of all items in the buyers' cart for the Min. Item Quantity threshold, whereas product-specific discounts only consider the quantity of that particular item. If you also leave the Discount Code field blank in that discount's settings, the discount would be automatically applied to all orders which meet the Min. Item Quantity threshold. # POSTED ON: June 21, 2012 @ 16:26 GMT -7 |
