Newbie suggestions for authorize.net gateway / merchant account?

I started e-junkie with Paypal Web Payments Standard, but I find the checkout screen too confusing - it's possible to pay without a paypal account but that's not clear. So I'm wondering if I should go the authorize.net route:

What are small-business suggestions for an authorize.net gateway / merchant account? I've looked through all the resellers on the authorize.net website but for one starting out (like me) I would like to minimize monthly/annual/setup fees as the expense of perhaps higher transaction fees.

payQuake Lite seems like the best so far with 3.49% and 40c discount fee. But do I read it right that if a guest has a Visa/MC rewards card (most of them are these days) it would be an additional 1.99% surcharge or 5.48% for the fee?

Paypal Pro seems like a better solution, although it still has the pesky "pay by paypal" button in the View Cart.

Naia, most of our merchants use PayPal standard and Google Checkout with excellent conversion rates. What do you find confusing about PayPal?

Paypal is not confusing for the merchant, I'm just concerned about the checkout screen. Our guests are not so computer savvy - they just want to pay with a credit card - so with Paypal Standard the way Paypal is set up, it's not entirely clear you can pay without being a Paypal member.

If you have never used PayPal, PayPal will show a different checkout screen .. more friendly for CC payments .. you can clear your browser cookies and try the checkout to see what I'm talking about.

Is it possible to get e-junkie to work with Quickbooks Merchant accounts?
