 Redirection Not Working

After spending hours here last night, I believe I have a work around for my redirection problems (involves other software), but I MUST have the user to go to MY thank you page AFTER the payment is complete and NOT EJ page. I HAVE unchecked "included other files" (I"ll host them) and checked "redirection". I then clicked next, filled in my url, clicked submit...
Next I did a test purchase for 1 cent, and it still goes to EJ thank you page, NOT the one I just pasted in for redirection, what am I doing wrong?

You can either have "redirection" or "download" / "files from other products" checked for each product. You can not have download and redirection both.
If you want user to go to your thank you page but your product requires download as well, then you should set a thank you url in admin > preferences

admin... I've been waiting two days for your answer.
1. this is what you always say and does not answer my question.
2. I understand redirection or download... I have UN-checked download and now ONLY have redirection. I state such in my question to you. I cannot set the url in admin since I have multiple products and multiple sites... one url would not do what I need. If instead EJ would allow this feature for multiple products, then it would be find.
in EJ product form, I click "more"... THEN fill in my redirection url and click "submit"...in my mind I am doing it right, if not then please tell me.
3. just this minute did another test puchase for 1 cent and still goes to EJ page. Then I looked at the product in my seller admin and "redirection" is checked... "download" is UNchecked. Actually it is NOT possible to check both anyway.
Please advise in more detail.

I just created a new product... "test"... there is nothing attached to it and the price is 1 cent. The ONLY thing I have checked is redirection. On more page I inputted redirection url and have done nothing else to the product.
I just did a test purchase and still it goes to EJ page after successful purchase.
Either I'm an idiot, which is possible, or there's a bug. Please tell me which.

Can you paste here/email us the download link you got or free download link generated from the admin?
