Frame, the only reason I can think for using a cloaker is when you dont want people to know that the link you are promoting is an affiliate link .. which is not a good practice anyway.

E-junkie affiliate links won't work if someone takes out the affiliate id or manipulates it.

Hi Lemonbar,
To be honest, I have no idea:) All I know is that there seems to be a mass hysteria about affiliate link theft and subsequently affiliate sellers buy these cloakers. I want to offer one for free to my affiliates just to calm their fears; though I don't understand. Perhaps an affiliate person out there can answer that question for us...

How does a cloaker work?

Why do you want to cloak the link?

How does that prevent link theft?

I can't comment about a particular cloaker but URL Cloakers don't do a whole lot .. they do pretty basic stuff .. so yes, in general there is not reason for a URL to be not compatible.

We don't offer a per week breakdown, but you can download the logs each week and do that calculation.

What it will look like after will depend on cloaker. What it will look like before .. is well like https://www.e-junkie.com/ecom/gb.php?c=xx.......... (just the URL from the affilaite code)

-And I apologize, I am a little unfamiliar with the technicals of link cloakers. So they should cloak only part of the URL and leave the remaining information? Could you give me an example of what a before and after URL cloaking would look like?

Affiliates can see logs of sales. You can currently see affiliate commission assocaited with each sale in Logs.

To pay the affiliates, we provide you a monthly mass payment file which you can download from Admin. That file is alwyas for the previous month.

It's a good idea to pay near middle of the month for the last month to accomodate any pending paymens and refunds etc.

As for link cloaker, sure that will work. Make sure that your affiliates are only using the URL (https://www.e-junkie.com/...) from the affiliate code and not the whole code ()

I am thinking of paying my affiliates once per week via Paypal. Does the Ejunkie affiliate setup allow me and my affiliates to see real time or up-to-date information so I know how much to pay out? Also, affiliates are always complaining about link theft. Does Ejunkie have a way to combat this? Example: If affiliates use a link cloaker will Ejunkie still recognize their affilaite ID#.
