Most people "get" the ironic joke in our name, and mind you, we've got quite a few religious organizations and devout merchants happily using our service without any qualms. By the time any buyer might possibly realize E-junkie was even involved in their purchase, they've already checked out and are in the midst of claiming their download. The word "junkie" has lost most of its old Beatnik-era connotations and now simply refers to finding something so compelling you just can't resist, and as a term has become so widespread and colloquial that even sweet little old grannies have been heard to call themselves a "bingo junkie", "soap opera junkie", "Bible junkie", etc.

With nearly 8000 merchants actively subscribed to use our service currently, and our explosive growth over the past couple years largely fueled by little more than good PR and exceedingly positive word of mouth, it's simply not in our interest to suddenly change our branding at this point. However, we recognize that some merchants may still want to hide our name, so we're looking into the alternative-domain solution as an option for those who still fret about "what some other people might think". :^)]]>

BTW, Development is planning to add some degree of support for an alternate domain name, but that will require considerable work to make possible, and it's not clear just how pervasive that option will be. At the very least, it should be possible to replace your button-code URLs with the alternate domain, but thank-you page URLs and download URLs may be another matter. We'll see what shakes out as practical to implement when Development tackles that project.]]>
