I'm genuinely curious as to why there is a minimum price for hosted files, and would greatly appreciate any comments on the matter, thanks.]]>

I've recently joined and I'm still in the process of setting up my store. I plan on selling my own music downloads in mp3 and FLAC formats, and as I have 31 tracks to sell in each format, I need more storage space than provided by even the most expensive plan. I didn't think this would be a problem, going for the $18 or $27 plan, as I'm happy hosting my own FLACs (I still use EJ to host the mp3s, as these come in at under 500MB).

But, here lies the problem: as I understand it, to host your own files you need to specify a minimum price of 99 in whatever currency you're using. And as I'm using a UK Google Checkout account, I would need to use GBP to be able to take payment via GC. But although I'm happy charging $99c for the FLACs, £0.99 is too much. So I feel I'm in somewhat of a quandary. I'm stuck with PayPal only for the time being then.

I would argue that by paying extra for the right to host your own files, as we do by going for the $18+ plans, that we shouldn't be limited by a minimum payment amount. Is there a practical reason for limiting the price for hosted files to 99 and above?

Otherwise, I'm incredibly impressed with the service so far, and hope to be up and running soon. :)]]>
