Ok thanks for the top-toe tip!

You're not wrong that the discount system is a bit buggy / touchy.

I finally got some discounts codes that work.

0000-00-00 00:00:00 does not work at all for me by the way.

The only way I could get discounts to work was to:
+ not use numbers in the item code
+ not use any more than 10 or so characters
+ not use an expiry any greater than 2020-12-31 23:59:59

Not sure if its just me but this was the only way I could get them to work without seeing that highly repetitive window popup advising “The discount Code Has expired".

Example code that works for me:
+ Discount Name: 10 percent discount
+ Discount Code: testerTen
+ Discount: % (selected) / 10
+ Applies to: Item Total
+ Minimum Order Count: 0.00
+ Maximum Use Count: 0
+ Discount Code Expires On: 2020-12-31 23:59:59

Hope this helps others.

Thanks and all the best.]]>

Thanks for that.

I have had another play but still no luck - I keep getting the window popup advising “The discount Code Has expired”.

I need it in the sense of "ongoing volume discount based on certain minimum purchase thresholds" - with say minimum purchase of $10, ongoing indefinitely.

So I enter
Discount Name: 10 percent discount
Discount Code: tester01
Discount: % (selected) / 10
Applies to: Item Total
Minimum Order Count: 0.00
Maximum Use Count: 10000
Discount Code Expires On: 2099-12-15 23:59:59

Then it says in red "discount updated".

When I look at this discount again the E-junkie admin system strips the dashes out of the expiry date - so it looks like 20991215 23:59:59.

When I load another discount to get the tester01 discount off screen and the load the tester01 discount, the expiry date has changed to: 0000-00-00 00:00:00.

And then when I try to test in my website I keep getting the window popup advising “The discount Code Has expired”.

What am I doing wrong?

If your example was working Tyson, any chance you could copy and paste in your actual settings so I can see if I can get it working with that?

How can I overcome this as I need to get this discount working asap.

Why is this so hard? the rest of the setup was so nice and simple.

Thanks and best regards,

Nick]]>

Automatically-applied cart-wide discounts can only be limited in use by the min. order total and date-time expiration you set (or whenever you delete the discount, whichever happens first :^), so you would set Max Use Count to 0 (which technically means unlimited uses) for an automatic discount. This is meant to work either like a short-term sale (e.g., "30% off everything through Sunday") or like an ongoing volume discount based on certain minimum purchase thresholds (e.g. "10% off purchases over $50, 15% off purchases over $75, etc.).

The Max Use Count setting is intended to apply to discount codes which act like digital coupons, where a buyer manually types the code into their cart to get that discount, and Merchants might want to limit coupons to be good for only the first X number of customers redeeming that coupon, so setting that number is like issuing only that many coupons to begin with.]]>

This cart is great - I love the window overlay - so much nicer to integrate into a website - well done!!

I am having problems getting discounts to work.

I am wanting flat % discounts over the order total (not individual to one product).

I have created a 10% discount code in the “Admin / Edit E-junkie Cart Discounts & Gift Certificates” section with:
Minimum Order Count: 0.00
Maximum Use Count: 10000
Discount Code Expires On: 2099-12-15 23:59:59

But every time I try this I receive a window popup advising “The discount Code Has expired”.

Which clearly is not the fact as its not 2099 yet!

I also tried 0000-00-00 00:00:00

How can I get this working?

What is the correct info to put in for a non expiring discount code – that will work?

Please help

Thanks and best regards.]]>
