These two features would be tremendously helpful for me when helping some of my less tech-savvy affiliates get setup with promotional links.

I have one FEATURE REQUEST which I think would be pretty easy to implement. It would be helpful if the affiliate's ID was prominently displayed on the main Affiliate Login page so affiliates don't have to parse an affiliate link to find their Affiliate ID. The Affiliate ID should also show up in the Manage Affiliates admin section too.

I know that some of my potential affiliates won't be tech savvy enough to do that without a lot of hand-holding.

Thanks for the update. This is VERY helpful information and the new improvements will make it even easier to help get new affiliates up and running.

Thus, if you have the account ID number of an Affiliate's E-junkie account (or if you can tell them how to obtain that) and if they have joined your Affiliate program, then you could now theoretically provide link instructions on your site that would bypass the Get Affiliate Codes function in their Affiliate Admins.

One key thing to bear in mind is that the ii= value is the original Item Number we assigned to each new product when it was created, and which remains the "real" ID of that product in our database even if you customize the Item Number to something else; if you are configuring products with your own, custom Item Number IDs, those custom IDs will not work as ii= values. In that case, I think the easiest method to obtain the proper IDs would be to join your own Affiliate program and find the ii= values in your Affiliate Admin > Get Affiliate Codes.

BTW, you might notice we also added some new Common Affiliate Program Settings in Admin. These allow you to configure an across-the-board commission percentage and issue just one common Hop Link to each Affiliate for all of your products, and you can also specify the URL of a page on your site to which Affiliates could refer for more info/instructions. Any product-specific Affiliate link settings would take precedence over the "default" Common settings, and if you delete product-based Affiliate settings while having Common settings, any old Hop Links issued would continue to work as equivalent to a new Common Hop Link.

I'm going back to the original question about building links for affiliates and I have a question:

I'm looking at the affiliate hoplink code for my own products and also for other vendor's products and I only see the following values being passed to e-junkie in the link:

ii=Product ID
c=Cart Instructions
aff= Affiliate ID

The 4th hashed value only appears in the direct order links.

Does this mean that I could, in fact, generate hoplinks for affiliates on my site that replace the affiliate ID?

Thanks,

Andrew

* Log into your E-junkie Affiliate Admin;
* Click Get Affiliate Codes;
* Select "Bedzzz Inn Inc" as the Merchant (they sell the Fundraiser software and manage this Affiliate program;
* Click Get Affiliate Code button for that Merchant;
* Select "Order Info - Fundraiser 1.0" as the product;
* Click Get Affiliate Code button for that Product;
* Copy ALL of either the Hop Link code or Direct Link code you find there;
* Paste your link code into your site or other pages, wherever you wish.

If you have further questions, please contact that Merchant directly, as we only provide the software service they use to manage their own Affiliate program independently.

I have sent an email, you have not responed just yet, so I am going to post as well.
It seems that I am not the only one that is having this trouble.
I can not get the link for fund raiser to work for me.
I have placed tags and links in my website before and never had this kind of trouble.
I have gone to create code, I copied and pasted using firefox and the opera browsers.
I have set my cookies, I have set my java, I have set my pop up blocker, I have used three kinds of blogs, I have placed in my website as a link and a banner inside of the site.
in all situations the result is the same, It goes no place. This is the link I have for this product:

This is the banner link, now it seems that my affilliate ID should be in there some where.
The banner does come up, it is visible, but when you click on it, it comes up a blank page.
Now it does seem to me that the fund raiser product does belong to this company.
I am not going to place my ID# in this post, lets just say it is #65789, where about in this code would I place my ID#, does it need to be added to the code that is in this post, my
ID# does not appear in this tag.
If you could would you please give me an example fo what it would look like if my ID# was 65789, maybe this could help me. I do not believe that this is a fruad, I just think that the link is made up improperly and just links to no place.
I sure would appreciate it if you could give me some help here.
you can send me an email through: ashkor.t@gmail.com
I have just joined and I am sure I will need a friend in the bizz, would you mind keeping in touch with me, I promise not to get rude... Koreen

At least with the unique hashed value, it's really not practical to auto-generate link-value permutations by brute force that way -- that'd be far more work than getting codes the proper way through our Affiliate Admin manually, which itself is way too much effort for crooks just looking to turn a quick buck.

That leaves you with only legitimate Affiliates who will bother to make the minimal effort required to participate and play by the rules on an ongoing basis. And seriously, if a legit would-be Affiliate can't be bothered to do the trivial "work" of manually copy-pasting ready-made link code from us into their page, do you think they'll put much effort into making any sales for you?

To accomplish what you describe, I think it would be better to simply instruct your Affiliates to get their code directly from us in the usual way, and show them how to find the standard link text we issue, "Click here to view more details", and replace that with your own IMG tag.

I want to take my graphic and create a link code in one combined html code and give it to affiliates that sign up. In other words just tell them to erplace the EV value in the link with their own code?

How is the item sold identified back to that affiliate? Is it the EV code or the website it came from?

Thanks

c=ib - Does not change for Affiliate links, determines cart behavior to apply for that link.

aff= The Affiliate's own account ID on E-junkie (this will be the same for all links issued to each Affiliate).

ev= A hash of ii, aff and the account ID of the Merchant operating the Affiliate program for that link; this is different for every single Affiliate link and only obtainable via the Affiliate's own Admin screens on our site.

In the above link what needs to be changed for each person that signs up for the affiliate program?

what are the different parts in the above code?
ii= ?
c=ib ?
aff= ?
ev= ?

I want to create the link/graphic codes for them and probably just have them replace their own code.

Thanks
