You would need to use Add to Cart buttons if you want to use our tax/shipping calculation features, since we can only calculate tax and shipping in the cart before the buyer takes their order to checkout. Also, make sure you enable Sales Tax/VAT in the settings of each product that should add tax in the cart. This help page explains our tax settings:

Buy Now buttons bypass the cart and take the buyer directly to instant checkout for just one item at a time, so there is no chance to apply tax/shipping in the cart before checkout if you use that type of button. There's no way for us to tell the payment processor to apply tax on their checkout site once the buyer has already arrived there.]]>

You should not use tax/shipping settings at both ends (E-junkie and the payment processor) -- just one or the other -- but if you choose to try using tax settings at the payment processor's end, we have no control over how, or even if, those settings are applied during checkout, so that's entirely up to you to get working properly and troubleshoot any problems you may have. Also bear in mind that any settings in your payment processor account that pertain to a cart are referring to that processor's own cart service, not a third-party cart like ours.]]>
