When a buyer clicks an affiliate's hoplink, that sets a cookie in their browser which expires in 6 months, so any affiliate-eligible product that buyer purchases from you during the lifetime of that cookie will earn commission for the referring affiliate. After the topic you linked was written, we have also added support for a common hoplink and percentage, so it's no longer necessary to set a landing page and percentage for every individual product.
