As for if the specific country does not have a shipping rule. If you do have a general rule for all countries they will be giving that shipping charge, or if you have no all countries rule they will get an error in shipping and will likely then contact you.]]>

The first page you come to in shipping that asks about shipping destinations is merely a program to put the countries you pick into the pop up window drop down box. So it doesn't matter anything about shipping at that point it just a way to have the countries you want to appear in the drop down on the webpage be there.

The life saver there is that every time you go to that page those countries seem to stay highlited and you can add to them by pressing control and clicking on another country. If you make the mistake of clicking with out control I find that they all go bye bye and you have to start again.

I would like to know this. Let's say you have 40 countries in that list and you want to get rid of one? Do you have to start all over again?

I then figured out how to use the next page and set up rules for each country. I could see that in the confusion you could have a country in the drop down that you never set up a rule for and you could also set up a rule and forget to have that country in the drop down. I assume that either way no harm would be done but your customer would have to contact you and ask why there country is not there or nothing shows up for shipping or a default value?

In any event I think is works now. doug]]>

We have also revised our Shipping help page accordingly:
http://www.e-junkie.com/ej/help.shipping.htm

If you have more questions after reviewing the pages linked above, we'd be glad to advise you further. It would help if you could explain how you'd need your shipping charges to work, so we could give you more specific instructions tailored towards those results. Reading through your posts above, I couldn't quite get the "big picture" of what you actually want to accomplish?

The problem you experienced with settings being disabled or disappearing when you went back to the first shipping settings screen sounds like just a temporary glitch in your Admin panel. If it happens again, you should be able to resolve that by clicking on the Seller Admin link in the blue bar near the top, or just logout and then login again. It's also a good idea to make sure your Flash player plugin is up-to-date, since our Admin panels are built in Flash:

One thing I don't get is when I go to the master shipping rules page, I get a page that says shipping destinations. So I picked out my countries using control click. This means that now I have 10 or so countries highlighted in the box. Then it has some thing about define packing and weight preference. I see no other way out except to click next. When I do that I get a page that has existing shipping rules and make a new one. So I figure I need to make a new one so I go to the countries I am going to ship to and low and behold all the work I did on page two is now gone. I try to control click in this new box and it won't work. I can not see the connection between the one page and the other. In one you control click and select multiple countries and then the next page that is gone and you can only select one?]]>

I went through the product edit page and have it as a regular envelope and 3 oz. This means it comes out as 3 dollars when I put it into the cart at home. For some reason that I can not find we charge 1 per oz. Now I want to charge 5 for shipping to Europe and Australia. If I go back in to the product edit page I see no place to change anything that would indicate a foreign country. So that leaves the main product shipping page. If I go there I see I can select out certain countries but what good does that do? How would that relate to my one product out of 5? There appears to be no connection or tie in to the product. If I change shipping rules here it would effect all products. I don't see where the shipping rules come into play. When I edit the product it doesn't tell me there are shipping rules applied to that product. I now have two shipping rules and have no idea when I am using them. They seem to get different results but both say the states all states and then everything is zero. I still don't see where I entered $1.00 per oz. Doug]]>

I seem to now have one shipping rule and it says united states all and then a bunch of zeros.

When I go to buy products that I all ready have in the system ( live on web page) it seems inconsistent and I can not see what the problem is when I go to edit product. there is a master shipping page and then there is the product shipping page setup. I don't see how you would specify a shipping rule for a certain product.

I will have a DVD set that I want to charge 3 in the states and 5 over seas. I want to restrict to certain countries. I have a Cd that I want to have the same kind of thing for. One price for america and one for overseas.

I don't care about the weight or looking something up with USPS.

At some point in the pages I look at in editing a product it says 1.00 per. Is that $1.00 per ounce? And I see no place where I have set that. Doug]]>
