The issue with solid-blue text fields seems to have cropped up very recently, seems to be a bug in the Flash plugin, since all our Login and Admin panels are based on Flash. Try upgrading your Flash plugin here:
http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

If that doesn't seem to fix the problem, and if you're using Windows and seeing the problem in Internet Explorer, try using a different browser such as Firefox or Google Chrome, and if you're seeing the problem in a non-IE browser, try using IE. IE uses an ActiveX component to display Flash rather than using the Flash plugin that all other browsers share, so bugs in one may not affect the other.
