also, as a side note, I added the following to every product in the custom thank you options : $[%sale_price%]/ea

I think this should be a default or a toggle within the product definition.

Also, it would be nice to have the option to change the text "We've successfully received the order for". I would prefer to have One line of text at the top in bold that says "Items Ordered" followed by the bullet list of items.

Or better yet, I would LOVE the option of inserting HTML before the items list. This way I can put the order details on top like almost all invoices are. Seriously, this would be really really nice.

Other than that, my thank you/invoice page is coming together nicely.

Development fixed the glitch with [%shipping_name%], so that should be working fine now, with our apologies for the inconvenience. The other billing variables you wanted are still a work in progress.

I've updated our help page to clarify the variables you mentioned are Shipping rather than Billing (Buyer's) address details. I've asked Development to look into the problem with [%shipping_name%] and see if we can add variables for the other details you wanted.

Still some errors. On the following page:

It states the following:

[%address%] (Buyer's Address [if applicable])
[%city%] (Buyer's City [if applicable])
[%state%] (Buyer's State [if applicable])

This is the "shipping" address, not the buyer's.

Which variables correspond to the following?:

Billing Address
Billing phone number
shipping phone number

Our apologies; that template variable should actually be [%shipping_name%] (rather than [%address_name%]. I have amended our help page documentation accordingly, and we found a couple other clients using the incorrect variable name and took the liberty of fixing up those instances as well.

[%address_name%] does not work in the common thank you page.

I can add the shipping address, city, state but not the name of the person.

The correct template code would indeed be [%address_name%], which will only work in your Common Thank-you Page HTML field, not in the Message (HTML) field of any particular product. Make sure you also enable Shipping/Buyer's Address in the settings of each product that should trigger collection of a buyer's address during checkout.

Yes, I realize the Thank You email should be kept concise, so I would definitely put all this on my Thank you PAGE. Thanks for clarifying that specific purchase information should not be sent to redirected pages.

Ok, so I can use good old HTML to link URLs and mail addresses in the Common Thank-You Page HTML box. This I know how to do.

I guess I'm still a little uncertain on which variable to use for specific purchase information. For instance, on your generic Thank You Page, it says We've successfully received the order for (name of item). Quantity ordered: 1. Which variable assigns this information?

Lastly, do most sellers put specific purchase information on their Thank You pages or just basic promotional stuff, i.e. coupon offers, Facebook URL, etc.?

Hm, from your example now I'm not clear whether you want to customize the thank-you email message we send to the buyer, or the thank-you page they can view in their browser after completing checkout? Since your email address and website URL would be the same for all your buyers, there's no variable for those; you can just type those into your templates directly.

For thank-you email customization, please see this help page:

Thank-you emails are plaintext only (no HTML), and we would recommend keeping these as brief and to-the-point as possible to minimize the chances that anything in the message could result in the message getting mistakenly flagged as spam. If you need to include URLs, we would recommend putting them on a separate line, similar to how I'm presenting links here; however, the more URLs you put in an email, the more likely it could get flagged as spam. Try to save links and promotional text for the thank-you page.

Since you are not selling any digital products such as downloads, we would recommend leaving the Email Message fields blank in your product settings, and just rely on the single Common Thank-you Email in your Seller Admin > Account Preferences (if you even want to send an email at all). Note that since the Common email is not linked to any particular product, it cannot include any product-specific information. The default Common Thank-you Email template we provide for you already includes the [%thankyou_link%] variable which inserts a link to the buyer's common thank-you page listing all items in their order.

If you want to show any info from the buyer's order on their thank-you page, then you should not redirect to a thank-you page on your own site. You can use regular HTML to customize your thank-you pages, insert links or sign-up forms, etc. See the example link I provided above to get an idea of where item-specific vs. common thank-you page customizations would get inserted into the page.

I don't see variables for MY email or URLs. Can I enter standard HTML? I also don't understand what the variable is for the name of the product(s) the buyer purchased.

Would I be better just doing a redirect to a thank you page on my own site? Is this what most sellers do?

Here is an example of what I'd like to do. When buyer completes checkout and payment is good, I would like them to get detailed information, either by email or thank you page. Can you please tell me how best to achieve the following - would need specifics as well as to know whether to set the following up as an email or thank you page (customize yours or redirect to my own page)? In parenthesis are my questions or comments. Thanks.

Dear {name of buyer},

Thank you for your purchase. (How do I enter the variable for the specific items they purchased?)

I would like to include additional information here about when their item ships, etc. I can figure this part out.

(Here I would like to tell them if they would like a gift card to please email me. What is the variable for MY email?)

(Here I would like to invite them to sign up for my newsletter, Facebook Page and Twitter page. Need variables for links for these URLs. How would I accomplish this?)

(Would like to end with if you have any questions, and again would need variable information for email)

This help page lists all the template variables you can use to customize your E-junkie-generated thank-you pages -- take note which ones will work in the Common Thank-you Page HTML field (in Admin > Account Preferences) vs. which will only work in the Message (HTML) field of each product's settings:

Where can I find a list of seller variables for my thank you page? I am customizing my thank you page and would like to include a clickable email address, as well as Facebook URL, etc.

Can I do this on the custom Thank you Page HTML? Or would I be better off going with redirect to my website? Since I will have a lot of info on there. Thanks.
