To address your second question first, a $0.00 transaction DOES get stamped. Stamping will not work on a download that has been generated without an order (such as if you were to send a free download directly to someone), but it will work whenever an order is placed. Even if that order total was $0.00. So you won't have problems with gift certificates.

However, bundle/package products and PDF stamping are not compatible for technical reasons. Each PDF needs to be ordered separately in order to be run through the stamping script.

There is an "unsupported hack" that would allow you to code a single button to add multiple products to the cart at one time, that could be used to allow a buyer to purchase several documents with one click and still get them stamped. But buyers would still be able to remove one or more of those items from the cart before purchasing, and that would not allow you to easily set a special price for ordering all of those items together.

The code for the multiAdd button is discussed on this thread:

I'm selling several PDFs (e-books) through E-Junkie. The PDFs are stamped with the buyer's name and email address.

Everything works fine, but I'd like to set up two new features, and both of them do not seem to allow PDF stamping:

(1) Packaged products: If I offer 2 or more PDFs in bundle with a discount, neither PDF is stamped.

(2) Gift certificates: If A buys a gift cerfificate on behalf of B, B "buys" a PDF for $0.00. This is equivalent to a free download link, and because of this, the PDFs are not stamped.

The second issue is puzzling, because the PDF that E-Junkie "sells" for $0.00 in order to demonstrate how the PDF stamping works is actually stamped (http://www.e-junkie.com/ej/selling-ebooks.htm).

Is the above is correct? Is there a workaround?]]>
