What did MikeP finally figure out?

Is there an option for this?

I need different buy now buttons for the same product, so that I can offer different prices to different clients...

(For example, newsletter subscribers get a discount, while regular site visitors pay the full price)

Help please?

No worries - I figured it out. Different discount amounts, set up by making discounts with different names and amounts but all applied to the same item for sale, enable different amounts to be subtracted from the usual cost of an item by entering different corresponding codes.

Problem solved. Thanks anyway - but it is in fact not sufficiently covered in the FAQs. I suggest you have your technical writers fill in the blanks they missed the first time.]]>

I'll figure it out by experimentation. Thanks anyway.]]>

This help page explains all of our discount settings:
http://www.e-junkie.com/ej/help.discounts.htm

This page explains the types of discount settings that can (and cannot) work with Buy Now buttons:
http://www.e-junkie.com/ej/faq.discounts.buy-now.htm

Note that Buy Now buttons can only use product-specific discount codes (not general discounts for All Cart Items), which alter the per-unit price of the product; however, since Buy Now buttons bypass the cart and take buyers directly to instant checkout for just one item at a time, the discount amount you configure would effectively work as a flat amount in this case.]]>

Once I create the various discounts, then go to get the code for the Buy Now button, there is a single checkbox to include the discount code box into the code. When this is checked, are all of the various different discount levels available? In other words, one code "OFFER" may produce a $5 discount, while another code "NEWCLIENT" may produce a $10 discount.

The discounts themselves of course have different names in my admin list, but are all applied to the same item simply by checking the "apply discount to this item" box when copying the code?

Thanks.]]>
