We also have a help page for affiliates, explaining the system from their perspective:
http://www.e-junkie.com/ej/help.for-affiliates.htm

For in-person referrals, the affiliate could convert their unique hop link URL to a "short URL" by using a service like tinyurl.com, bit.ly, goo.gl, etc., then simply hand out cards/slips with that short URL printed on them. This should automatically track the affiliate's referral and calculate their commissions earned on any resulting purchases, which you would pay out to them on a regular (usually monthly lump-sum) basis.

We do have a way to set up discount codes but currently have no way to associate discount codes with any particular affiliate in our system(we are considering this as a possible new feature at some point in the future); however, you could track any discount codes used in your Transaction Log:
http://www.e-junkie.com/ej/help.transaction-log.htm

Redeeming a discount code would still require the buyer to visit your site and place an order there, so they could enter the code in their shopping cart. If a discount reduces their order total to 0.00, they could then use our cart's Free Checkout method to provide their name and email address in order to receive a download link. These help pages explain our Discount and Free Checkout features:

Go to a bookstore. Bring them 5 books, make the proposal to sell on commission with 40% discount.
Go a month later to the same bookstore. Only 1 book left in the store.
Write them a bill 4 books 40% discount.
Ask to fill up for again 5 books.

I have a similar idea for selling e-books.

Somebody wants to sell my book to personal friends. He is not sure how good he is as a seller.
He gets from me 20 voucher codes for downloading my book.

One month later, I see that 5 voucher codes are used for downloading.
I sent him a bill for 5 books with 40% discount.

The point is, that he sells his friends direct a paper with the voucher code printed and takes the money.
"I will go to Your homepage, click on the link and will purchase the download" will not be done in most cases.
So it's better to make the deal immediately happen by exchanging a paper with the voucher code against money.

What tools has E-Junkie to

1.) Assign an affiliates voucher codes
2.) Check all voucher codes assigned to an affiliates for used or unused]]>
